Student identity intelligence

Your people are already on campus. You just can't see them.

CrewUp is the inter-college professional network for Indian higher education, with intelligence built in. It learns what students actually do — then makes them findable to the peers, faculty and recruiters who are looking for exactly them.

Built for the 70,000+ institutions and 4.33 crore students of Indian higher education

Why CrewUp exists

Water everywhere. Not a single drop to drink.

Three true stories from one campus. None of them are about a shortage of talent.

9,000students on campus. Not seven who play handball.

Our founder was a state-level handball player. He spent his PG year unable to assemble a single team — in an institution of nine thousand people.

A friend who sings exceptionally well searched for eighteen months for someone to play with. The guitarist was sitting in the next department the whole time.

A friend with a biotech venture idea couldn't identify which students in the dedicated biotech department had any entrepreneurial drive. The lab, the funding, the people — all there. All invisible.

Biotech department

This is not a talent problem. It is a visibility problem.

Every campus tool built so far was built for the institution and expected students to comply. Students don't comply — there is nothing in it for them. So the data stays in WhatsApp groups, Excel sheets and paper files, and the people stay invisible to each other.

What CrewUp is

Not a feature. A new category.

Not an ERP. Not an alumni directory. Not a resume builder. An inter-college professional network with intelligence underneath it, designed specifically for Indian higher education.

Findable across colleges

Search by what people actually do, not by department code. The network doesn't stop at your campus gate — it spans every institution on CrewUp.

Identity from behaviour

Bios lie and self-ratings drift. CrewUp builds a student's identity from what they do on the platform over time, and shows its confidence in every signal.

Verified, not claimed

Achievements are approved by staff against uploaded evidence, then sealed with server-side hashing. A claim on CrewUp is checkable by anyone you share it with.

A profile that outlives the degree

Students use it for three to four years. After graduation there is no new login, no re-onboarding — their record and their people are already there. That is why alumni come back.

Built for students, valuable to the institution

Students join for recognition, peers and career visibility. The institution's accreditation evidence is the automatic byproduct of that behaviour — not a form anyone has to fill in.

No dopamine feed. Ever.

A locked product decision. No infinite scroll, no engagement farming, no vanity metrics. Attention data improves who you get matched with — it never ranks a feed at you.

Six layers

The CrewUp System

One architecture, running continuously. Every layer feeds the next, and the institution's evidence falls out of the end of it.

01

CaptureContinuous

Students log what they do — academic, sports, cultural, entrepreneurial, social, technical — across thirteen activity categories. They do it because the record is theirs, not because a form was mailed to them.

02

VerifyOne click, staff-side

Staff approve submissions against the uploaded evidence in a single workflow. Documents are hashed server-side, so nothing that reaches a verified record can be altered afterwards without detection.

03

RecogniseAutomatic

Verified activity turns into visible recognition and peer standing, weighted by what the activity actually was. Students get the immediate return that makes them keep documenting.

04

BuildAlways current

A portfolio assembles itself as the years pass — no end-of-course scramble. Shareable as one verifiable link, so a recruiter can check the claims without emailing the college.

05

PredictThe intelligence layer

CrewUp scores what each student is genuinely into, decays stale signals, and uses that to surface the right peers, the right opportunities and the right career direction. Detail below.

06

ServeInstitution-side

The institution draws real-time, evidence-backed exports for NAAC, NBA and NIRF out of data that was generated by students living their college life. No collection drive, no February panic.

India has the students. It cannot see them.

The gap is not skills. It is documentation, discovery and proof — at a scale no country has solved yet.

The intelligence layer

It knows the difference between what you say and what you do.

Every interest a student holds is scored against evidence and behaviour, and labelled with how sure the system is. Old signals decay — a three-week-old burst of interest does not outrank three years of consistency.

Proven

Verified evidence exists. Approved by staff against a document — the strongest signal on the platform.

Active

Sustained behaviour backs it. The student keeps showing up in this area, week after week.

Claimed

The student declared it, and nothing contradicts it — but nothing confirms it yet either.

Emerging

A pattern the system has started to notice before the student has named it themselves.

No black box. Students see exactly how the platform reads them, and can correct it. Signals fade on a rolling half-life, so the picture stays current instead of frozen at first year.

For institutions

Your accreditation evidence, generated while students use the product.

Built for the IQAC coordinator, not the IT department. Nobody has to run a data collection drive, because the data was already being created.

NAAC · Binary model

Evidence-first, by design

NAAC's binary accreditation model demands database-driven, evidence-backed submissions rather than narrative claims. CrewUp produces exactly that shape of output, continuously, instead of once every cycle.

Tamper-evident

Server-side hashing, end to end

Certificates and supporting evidence are hashed on the server — never by the browser — so a record cannot be substituted after approval. Supporting photos carry their capture metadata into the evidence chain.

Sign-off ready

Reports an IQAC director can defend

Exports carry a stated methodology, declared data sources, the classification provenance behind every mapping, and IQAC and Principal sign-off blocks. Zero-count metrics are shown as zero, never dressed up.

NBA · NIRF

One record, three frameworks

The same verified student activity serves NAAC attributes, NBA programme outcomes and NIRF submissions. Collect once, report three times — instead of three separate collection exercises a year.

Institutions pay. Students never do.

Every student, staff member and alumnus uses CrewUp free. The moment students pay, participation collapses — and incomplete participation makes the institutional data worthless.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is public, global and noisy, and nothing on it is verified. CrewUp is scoped to Indian higher education, every achievement is approved by institutional staff against evidence, and discovery is built around what students are actually doing right now — not around who posts the most. Different problem, different physics.
Isn't this just an ERP module our vendor could build?
An ERP is built for administration and expects students to comply with it. That is precisely why campus portals sit unused. CrewUp is built so students want to be on it, and the institutional evidence is the byproduct. An ERP vendor can copy the forms; they cannot copy the reason a student opens the app.
What stops a student from inflating their profile?
Three things. Achievements require uploaded evidence and staff approval before they count. Approved evidence is hashed server-side, so it cannot be swapped afterwards. And the intelligence layer separates what is proven from what is merely claimed — a self-declared interest is visibly labelled as self-declared.
Do our students have to pay?
No, and they never will. Students, staff and alumni use CrewUp free. The institution holds the licence. This is deliberate: the moment students pay, participation drops, and incomplete participation makes the institutional data useless.
Why will alumni actually stay?
Because there is nothing to re-join. Most alumni platforms hand a graduate a brand-new login for a product they have never used, with no reason to return. CrewUp students have been on it for three to four years — their record, their peers and their college story are already there on graduation day.
What happens to our data if we stop?
You export it. Full structured export of every student, record, verification and evidence link, on request, with no exit fee. Students keep their profile links. We would rather you leave with your data than stay because you cannot get it out.
